We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher

This is a great video of a 3 year old boy who explains why he does not want to eat animals.

  1. It has been a pleasure sharing discussion and blog posts with you. Your background in social work gives you a completely different outlook on early childhood development that I find very beneficial to class discussions.

  2. Alysse, your quote is a good reminder of being in the moment. I personally need this reminder as a parent. We often look too far ahead and worry of what our children will be like in the future, and yet, we forget that they have present needs at the moment and that is what matters most. How we interact with a child in the present will impact their future. For the many weeks of active exchange of ideas and perspectives with you and our colleagues, it has been such a pleasurable experience. Although our course takes so much of my time amid my busy work schedule, I always enjoyed the interaction. Thank you for being a part of such a wonderful learning journey. I wish you all the best in the next courses to come.

  3. Alysse, I LOVE the quote you have chosen. It speaks volumes because children are not viewed in this manner. I will always ask my team..”what can we do for JOHNNY today”! In the school system, I see teachers going through folders only to see the negative in students they will have the next school year. JOHNNY could have changed or matured in those months but they can’t see it because they judge him for his past. Hope you enjoy the rest of the program and wishing you nothing but success!
